AHG – White Ribbon

Background
AHG, Australia’s largest motoring group, is a passionate supporter of White Ribbon, a charity that prevents violence against women. The challenge was to create an engaging and dramatic presentation for their annual White Ribbon Gala Dinner fundraiser, a critical event in raising awareness and funds for the cause.

The Campaign Objective
The objective was to develop a robust and emotive presentation that would resonate with the Gala Dinner attendees, compelling them to engage with and support White Ribbon’s mission. The presentation needed to underscore the urgency and importance of the cause, encouraging generous donations to support efforts in combating violence against women.

Guiding Insights
The campaign was grounded in the understanding that personal stories and stark statistics would significantly impact the audience. Acknowledging that violence against women is a deeply emotional and urgent issue, the presentation aimed to create a strong emotional connection with the audience, highlighting the widespread impact of violence and the critical role of community support in addressing it.

Strategy Overview
Xavier Advertising crafted a dramatic five-minute video presentation that featured women from AHG and their children, utilising high-speed camera technology to capture emotive images in extreme slow motion. The presentation was structured around powerful themes and statistics related to violence against women, designed to elicit a strong emotional response and highlight the need for action. This strategic use of personal stories and impactful visuals aimed to foster a deeper understanding and empathy among the audience, driving home the message that everyone has a role in preventing violence against women.

Target Audience
The primary audience for the campaign was attendees of the White Ribbon Annual Gala Dinner, including AHG staff, stakeholders, and supporters of the White Ribbon cause. This group was selected for their potential to contribute significantly to the charity, both financially and through advocacy, by spreading awareness within their communities.

Campaign Creative
The creative approach centred on the presentation’s emotional depth, leveraging slow-motion visuals of AHG women and their children to maximise impact. Intercut with these images were stark, confronting statistics about violence against women, framed by the recurring theme “It’s because violence against women is a violation.” This narrative arc was designed to build emotional momentum, culminating in a powerful call to action that aligned with AHG’s commitment to the cause.
